We understand that a guitar is a personal choice. Tone, feel, response, comfort, and projection all matter — and these are things best discovered with the instrument in your own hands. That is why we offer a 14-day trial on all guitars, giving you time to play, listen, compare, and decide with confidence.
If you decide it’s not for you, return or exchange it within 14 days.

Try any guitar at home for up to 14 days from delivery or purchase.
Full Refund On Return
If the item is returned in the same condition in which it left our studio a full refund will be issued.

Notify us by email, pack the item securely, and send it back using your chosen courier.

Returned instruments are carefully checked on arrival before a refund is processed.
Our 14-Day Guitar Trial
Choosing a classical guitar is personal. Even when an instrument sounds promising in a YouTube video or feels like the right choice on paper, the real test is how it performs in your hands, your practice space, and how it responds to your playing style.
Our 14-day guitar trial gives you the opportunity to test the instrument at home, in your own familiar environment. This is especially useful if you are unable to visit our Derby studio for an appointment.
During the trial, we simply ask that you treat the guitar with care to avoid damage: store it safely, avoid unnecessary risk, and retain all packaging in case you need to return it.
What can be returned?
Any item may be returned within 14 days of purchase/delivery. This applies to purchases made in-studio and online.
Condition of returned items
Returned items must arrive back with us in the same condition in which they were sold, with all original accessories, cases and packaging included where applicable.
Return shipping
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. We recommend using a fully insured, trackable service. Returned items remain the customer’s responsibility until they have arrived safely at Classical Guitar Academy and have been inspected.
Step 1: Contact us
Email us to let us know you would like to return an item. Please include your order number and the item you wish to return.
Step 2: Repack carefully
Use the original packaging where possible. Guitars should be returned in their case and packed securely to prevent movement in transit.
Step 3: Send via courier
Arrange return shipping with your chosen courier. For guitars and high-value items, we strongly recommend a tracked and insured service.
Step 4: Inspection and refund
Once the item arrives, we will inspect it and issue a refund in line with this policy.
Exchanges
Sometimes a guitar is clearly a fine instrument, but not quite the right match for your hands, your sound, or your musical priorities. If that happens, we would encourage you to speak with us before requesting a refund.
Because every guitar at Classical Guitar Academy is individually selected and personally assessed, we can often suggest a more suitable alternative based on what you liked — and what you felt was missing. A guitar with a warmer voice, a quicker response, a different scale length, a more comfortable neck profile, or simply a different musical character may prove to be a better fit.
For guitars, an exchange is not treated as a simple transaction. It is an opportunity to refine the choice and help you move closer to the instrument that genuinely suits you.
